Until then she had to stay in the kingdom to be safe. One of the rules stated that no mermaid could go near the water’s surface until she turned fifteen years old. His mother helped him rule the kingdom and raise the girls, because his wife had died many years before.Įveryone in the kingdom followed the rules, and that’s why they all lived well. All the ocean creatures lived peacefully together: small and big fish, plants, sea urchins, and mermaids. It was beautiful, with coral walls and algae of all colours. Deep in the ocean, where the water was blue and crystal clear, and no sun beam could pierce the surface to the bottom, there was a vast kingdom. ![]()
